Privacy
Wallpapeink is an independent project run by one person. This page explains, plainly, what happens with what you do here.
- Your images are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
- There is no account or login.
- Anonymous usage data is collected only if you accept.
Your images
Conversion happens on your device, inside the browser. The files you choose are not sent to any server, and no analytics tool reads the images. In Hotjar, the image area and the feedback field are hidden from recordings.
What is stored in your browser
We keep two items in your browser's local storage, needed for the site to work the way you expect:
- the device and firmware you chose last (key
wallpapeink.v1); - your choice about usage data (key
wpk:consent).
They stay on your device until you clear your browser data. Without your consent, the site sets no cookies.
Answers you send
The "did it work on your device?" question. If you answer, we receive the device, firmware, file format, the result (worked or not) and, if not, the reason you picked. This goes into aggregated counters, with no identifier, no email, and no IP address stored by us.
Feedback. If you send a comment through the Feedback link, we store the text (up to 1000 characters), the page language and the date. We don't ask for a name or email, and we keep the 500 most recent messages. Please don't put personal data in the text.
Usage statistics
Vercel Web Analytics. Counts visits and pages in aggregate, without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
Google Analytics 4 and Hotjar, only with your consent. On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept. If you do, we load these two tools, which set cookies and receive usage data:
Google Analytics records actions such as adding images, converting, downloading and answering the question, along with your device, firmware and format choices, plus technical data such as country, device type and browser. We never send file names, image contents or text you type.
Hotjar records how the page is used (clicks, scrolling, cursor movement) to build heatmaps and session recordings.
These services are run by Google and Hotjar, and data may be processed outside your country. See their policies: Google and Hotjar.
Changing your mind. Use "Consent preferences" in the footer. If you decline, we delete these tools' cookies and stop loading them.
Hosting and technical data
The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any host, receives the IP address and technical data of each request to deliver the page and protect the service. Text fonts are served by the site itself, with no calls to Google Fonts. The counters and feedback messages are kept in an Upstash database.
How long we keep things
- Vote counters: no personal data, kept while the project exists.
- Feedback messages: the 500 most recent; we may delete them sooner.
- Google Analytics: up to 14 months.
- Hotjar: according to the tool's own policy.
- Local storage: until you clear your browser data.
Your rights
Under the LGPD, the GDPR and similar laws, you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Because votes and feedback carry no identifier, we can't link them to you; for usage statistics, decline consent or delete your browser's cookies.
For requests about your data or questions about this page, write to plastique.case@gmail.com.
Changes
If something changes, this page will be updated, along with the date at the top.
